EU High Representative makes statement after Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers’ meeting

High Representative of European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of European Commission Catherine Ashton made a statement after the Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers' meeting, which was held in Brussels, European Union's official website reported.

EU High Representative chaired the annual Eastern Partnership Foreign Ministers' meeting, held in Brussels on July 22.

The statement says that, the ministers in their debate focused on the preparation of the next Eastern Partnership Summit to be held in Vilnius on November 28-29 of this year.

At the meeting in Brussels, the High Representative stressed that the European Union wants the summit to be a success, and this very much depends on the partner countries.

She noted that, important progress has already been achieved so far. Catherine Ashton underlined that the efforts must continue so that the summit will represent a milestone in the relationship between the EU and partner countries.

It should be noted that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also participated at the meeting in Brussels.
