Azerbaijan, Baku, August 6 / Trend E. Mehdiyev /
The situation on the eve of the 2013 election campaign in Azerbaijan can be considered as quite optimistic, deputy chairman and executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov told Trend today.
"The Azerbaijani society is moving towards the elections in high spirits," he added.
"Azerbaijan is living a normal life and continues developing economically and in other directions. The current year included new pages in the history of the development observed in Azerbaijan for several years. The development tendencies are observed in all areas of Azerbaijan including economic and other spheres in the first half of the year. This testifies to the fact that the consistent development has been continued in Azerbaijan for several years. Of course, in general, this serves to improve the welfare of the Azerbaijani citizens, the Azerbaijani population."
"Azerbaijan's positions in the international arena are sufficiently encouraging," he said.
"Azerbaijan is strengthening its positions at regional and international arenas," he said.
"Azerbaijan is considered in the world as the country respected byb the global community. All these are the features characterizing the pre-election situation in 2013. Therefore, citizens do not face any serious problems. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly stressed that significant reforms were implemented in many areas of the country and most of the problems were almost solved. Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is still the unresolved problem of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani citizens have no other serious problems, except this one, on the eve of the election campaign in 2013. All this characterizes the general mood of the Azerbaijani society on the eve of the elections. Azerbaijan is moving towards the election campaign-2013 with this spirit."
"The ruling New Azerbaijan Party in all previous elections had a goal of using new technologies and achieved this each time," he added.
"I believe that if one of the reasons for the ruling party's continuing success over several years is related, on the one hand, to a rather serious approach to the campaign as a whole, on the other hand, this was due to the use of modern technologies in this period. The 2013 elections will not be an exception either. Firstly, because life changes, new election technologies, techniques and methods of political activity are appearing. New technical and technological means are being used for campaigning that the ruling party of Azerbaijan closely monitors and tries to employ. On the other hand, the New Azerbaijan Party's electoral experience is enhancing. The latter makes it possible to apply professional approach to the campaign, and one of the features of this professionalism is an innovative approach," Ahmadov said.
There is also the third point that needs to be considered, he said.
"Very serious changes have shaped Azerbaijan's economic and political life since 2008. Electoral processes and technologies around the world have undergone major changes. We closely monitor and analyze them. We study them and try to apply in our work. I do not want to disclose the nature of techniques that we want to apply in the election campaign. The propaganda stage of the election campaign will start soon after the registration of candidates, and then the citizens of Azerbaijan and the media will be informed about new technologies used by the New Azerbaijan Party," Ahmadov said.
According to him, over ten years, Azerbaijan has passed the grand stage of development under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
"Over these years, the country's economy has increased at times and major changes have taken place in other areas. Azerbaijan has completely changed over ten years. When comparing 2003 and 2013, we will witness the formation of a completely different Azerbaijan. This period also saw changes in people, in their lives, values of life, standard of living. Today, Azerbaijan is an active member of the international community with great prospects.
Azerbaijani state is among the countries, developing dynamically both from the economic point of view and by other parameters, and is considered one of the candidates to join the ranks of developed countries in the near future. This is general characteristics of the path undertaken by Azerbaijan in ten years," the deputy chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party said.
According to him, main features of the program of Ilham Aliyev's next action plan aim to continue the development of Azerbaijan observed by each citizen over the past ten years and achieve the goals and objectives of raising Azerbaijan to an even higher level of development.
"The majority of citizens of Azerbaijan unambiguously perceive the candidacy of Ilham Aliyev at the upcoming presidential election as the guarantor of development of Azerbaijan in the coming years. Azerbaijan's development meets the personal interests of every citizen of Azerbaijan. Thus, unequivocal support and protection of Ilham Aliyev's candidacy by the majority of citizens have made the hopes for a chance of other candidates in the election campaign unrealistic. In this connection, I do not see any other candidate from any party or among the representatives of parties, who have at various times demonstrated the desire to take part in the election campaign, that could become rivals to Ilham Aliyev," Ali Ahmadov said.
