Ambassador: Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan reach qualitatively new stage of cooperation

Strengthening and development of mutually beneficial relations with Azerbaijan remains as one of the main directions of foreign policy of Uzbekistan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Sherzod Fayziyev said on Tuesday during his speech at a meeting dedicated to the Independence Day of Uzbekistan.
"In recent years we witnessed a qualitatively new stage in the development of this cooperation," the ambassador underscored.
According to Fayziyev, the relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, which have reached the level of strategic partnership, have clearly defined priorities and guidelines.
"Undoubtedly, the establishment of a close and confidence relationships are based on deep historical roots, community and proximity of national traditions, language and culture," the ambassador said.
Fayziyev expressed his belief that "the existing true friendly relationships and close cooperation will continue to further develop in the interests of two countries, as well as the peace, security and stability in the South Caucasus and Central Asia."
From the Azerbaijani side, the chairman of the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov made a speech at the event dedicated to Uzbekistan's Independence Day.
Hasanov congratulated Uzbekistan on the Independence Day.
During his speech, Ali Hasanov underscored high level of bilateral relations, which were and remain friendly and fraternal.
He also noted that during the years of independence, Uzbekistan has achieved great successes in political, economic and other spheres and wished further success to the country.
