The Azerbaijani presidential election was held in a calm atmosphere and in accordance with the generally accepted international standards, the head of TURKPA mission Haluk Ipek said on Thursday at the press-conference dedicated to the results of the Azerbaijani presidential election.

According to him, some 72 percent of voters participated in the election and this is a high indicator.

"The high activity among the youth should be especially emphasized," Ipek said.
He also highlighted the high level of preparation and organization works carried out in Azerbaijan in connection with the presidential election.

"All conditions were created for the citizens to implement their constitutional rights," Ipek stressed.

According to him, the technical equipment of the polling stations was also at a high level.

Both the election campaign and the voting process itself were organized in accordance with the generally accepted international standards. In particular, there were created equal conditions for all observers to implement their mission.

The Azerbaijani presidential election was held on October 9. According to the initial results, President Ilham Aliyev got 2,282,936 votes (84.73 percent).
