"For Fair Elections" observation mission has issuesd a report recognizing the legitimacy of the Azerbaijani presidential election.

The report on the election results adopted at the briefing on Thursday said that the election is considered to have taken place.

"The election process was also organized in the best way. The rights of the presidential candidates, observers and other participants of the election were ensured. The recorded shortcomings didn't affect the election results. The voting process was free and transparent. This created conditions for recognizing the election results as legal and legitimate," the report said.

According to the head of the observation mission, Russian observer Sergei Mirzoyev, they trust the survey results, figures related to the voters' activity.

"The elections were free, transparent and legitimate. There are no reasons to doubt it. The voters were active. The modern technologies were used during the election," Mirzoyev said.

The observer from Germany Michel Hohendal said that the election did indeed take place.

"The election went through with high results. There weren't registered shortcomings that would affect the election results. We recognize the election results as legal and legitimate," he said.

The observer from the Czech Republic OSCE's former Vice-President Anna Churdova said that she respects the voters' activity.

"Such an activity is not observed in the Central European countries. Small shortcomings were registered at the polling stations, but they could not seriously affect the results," Churdova stressed.

The Senator of the Czech Republic Vladimir Drimmelen said that the voting was held freely, transparently and democratically at the polling station that he observed.
