Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 13 / Trend /

The autumn session of OSCE PA started Sunday in Montenegrin city of Budva.

According to head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, Elkhan Suleymanov, a meeting of Standing Committee of the OSCE PA was held on the first working day of the session.

Special coordinator and head of the OSCE short-term observation mission Michel Voisin made a report during the meeting.

He said that the report of the OSCE/ODIHR on the presidential elections in Azerbaijan doesn't reflect the views of observers of the OSCE PA, PACE and the European Parliament.

According to him, it is impossible to agree with most of report's provisions.

Voisin added that the presidential elections in Azerbaijan have revealed a significant step towards meeting the standards of the Council of Europe and OSCE, stressing that the elections were transparent, free and fair, and show serious progress on the path to democracy.

Voisin also noted that, in this regard, he supports the statements of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Parliament.

During his speech, special coordinator and head of the OSCE short-term observation mission refuted the statement of the OSCE ODIHR, made on October 10 in Baku, which stated that the OSCE/ODIHR report on elections in Azerbaijan was created together with the OSCE PA.

He stated emphatically that the members of OSCE PA observation mission did not participate in the preparation of this report.

According to him, he was only present at the adoption of the report and protested against it.

Voisin added that there are no doubts of the validity of the election results and called for the dissolution of the OSCE / ODIHR.
