Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam, Anar Imanov met with Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister praised the opening of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Vietnam as an important event in terms of the relations between the two countries and said that the Vietnamese side will provide all necessary assistance during the Embassy's activity, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service told Trend on Friday.
Imanov thanked the Prime Minister and said that the establishment of the Embassy shows the level of Azerbaijan's attention to relations with Vietnam. He also noted that the friendly relations between the two countries have a long history, and now there is a great potential for the development of bilateral relations.
Dung said that the Vietnamese will never forget the support of the Azerbaijani people in the most difficult moments, and underlined that Vietnam intends to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. He noted that they are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan. Vietnamese Prime Minister also invited the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev to visit Vietnam in 2014.
Then, Imanov provided information about the achievements of Azerbaijan, regional projects, in which the country participates, as well as economic development. The Ambassador also spoke about the negative impact on the region caused by Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister noted that he was informed about the successes of Azerbaijan and added that Azerbaijan's experience is of great interest.
In conclusion Ambassador Imanov underlined the importance of opening the Vietnamese Embassy in Azerbaijan for the further development of relations between the two countries.
Dung said that the possibility of opening the Vietnamese Embassy in Azerbaijan is being reviewed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
