Trend: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today met Chairman of Grand National Assembly of Turkey Cemil Cicek.
They discussed the current state of and prospects for friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
They noted ties between the two countries share common historical and cultural roots and have strong foundations.
Expansion of interparliamentary ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey was also discussed at the meeting.
They praised Turkish Grand National Assembly's support of Azerbaijan's position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. They emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries' parliaments.
They also noted the fraternal countries will continue supporting each other.
