To strengthen relations between the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Thailand it is planned to sign an agreement between the parliaments of the two countries. Mutual visits of delegations are also planned to develop tourism relations, head of the working group on Azerbaijan-Thailand Interparliamentary Relations Rauf Aliyev told Trend on Dec.5.

A delegation of Thailand parliament that includes two senators and five MPs, is on a visit to Azerbaijan. They held a meeting with the Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan's parliament (Milli Mejlis), Valeh Alaskarov and the working group on Azerbaijan-Thailand Interparliamentary Relations on Dec.5, Rauf Aliyev said.

"A number of issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meetings," Aliyev said. "These visits will give impetus to the further rapprochement of our countries and nations. For instance, there were discussed the holding of Cultural Days of Azerbaijan in Thailand and Cultural Days of Thailand in Azerbaijan. A great interest was shown in our cuisine and there will probably be work carried out in area".

Cooperation in the tourism sector was discussed especially. We came to the conclusion that mutual visits of delegations should be organized for carrying out works in this direction," he said.

The Thai parliamentarians were informed about successes achieved by Azerbaijan, as well as about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Aliyev said.

The Thai delegation expressed support and stressed that these territories belong to Azerbaijan.
