Struggle for new Turkey starts

Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec.26

Trend:

After Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party disclosed the "Balyoz" (Sledgehammer) military coup plan of 2010 to overthrow the government, it seemed that coups came to an end in the country. But the events of Dec. 17, 2013 can be considered as a coup attempt, prepared by the judicial and police systems to overthrow the government.

During a meeting of the ruling party, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently said that there was a struggle with groups wanting to create a "state within a state", but this struggle was not successful.

Erdogan's statements against religious leader Fethullah Gulen living in the United States and having great influence were one of the most remarkable moments in his speech.

Erdogan said that nobody has the right to use sacred Islam in their own interests as the use of religion for personal use is immoral.

Of course, Erdogan's statements once again confirmed that former allies have serious disagreements. One of the main reasons for these differences is that the Turkish ruling party conducts the anti-Israeli policy, as well as the policy of rapprochement with Iran.

The confrontation between the sides resulted in the resignation of three high-ranking officials of Turkey - Economy Minister Zafer Chaglayan, Minister of Environment and Urban Planning Erdogan Bayraktar and Interior Minister Muammer Guler.

On the day of their resignation the prime minister announced the new Cabinet of Ministers. Naturally, such step by the Turkish government can be assessed as self-defense which is normal in itself.

When coming to the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers, as the prime minister put it, these officials are "the ministers of struggle for the independence of new Turkey".

One of the most important changes in the government's composition was the appointment of Efkan Ala (who is not a parliament member), one of the close friends of Erdogan, as interior minister, as well as the appointment of the Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag as justice minister.

Namely the shortcomings in the work of these two ministries became the reason that the anti-corruption operation in Turkey was kept secret until the last moment.
It sounds unconvincing that the changes in the Cabinet of Ministers will not affect the internal policy pursued by the ruling party.

There is every reason to suppose that the government in the new composition will start struggle "for the independence of new Turkey" which without any doubt, will be carried out against the police and judicial systems.
