Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 25

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

The MPs' illegal telephone conversation recording has been transferred to a third party, council member of the ruling Justice and Development Party Mazhar Bagli said in an interview with TRT Haber on Feb. 25.

In his interview Bagli did not identify the third party.

"One can say with confidence that the government will do everything possible to reveal those perpetrators," he added.

On Feb. 24, several Turkish media outlets said telephone conversations of over 7000 people, who are close to both the country's ruling party and opposition parties, were wiretapped as part of an anti-terrorist operation against members of the 'Salam' organization, against which the prosecutor's office of Istanbul launched an investigation in 2011.

It was reported that the telephone conversations of Turkish intelligence head Hakan Fidan were also wiretapped under the anti-terrorist operation.
