Latvian ex-president (1997-2007), president of the Club of Madrid and co-chairperson of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center Vaira Vike-Freiberga will visit Azerbaijan on April 22.
She will stay in Baku for about a week and participate in the projects organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
The sixth International Meeting and the first General Assembly of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center will be held in Baku on April 27. The second Global Open Society Forum will be held on April 28-29.
The second Global Open Society Forum is supported by the Azerbaijan State Committee for Work with the Diaspora and organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, the Club of Madrid, the Club of Rome as part of collaboration with the World Academy of Science and Culture, United Nations, Bibliotheca Alexandrina and other organizations.
The prominent public and political figures, scholars, as well as former heads from 45 countries will attend the forum.
The forum will cover such important issues as the basis for coverage of open societies, economic foundations, conflict settlement in hard situations, the management in ensuring sustainable development.
