Chairman of the German Parliament's Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Ramsauer and Chairwoman of the Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development Dagmar Wöhrl will visit Azerbaijan, a diplomatic source told Trend Sept. 8.
The visit is an initiative of the German side, and will be held Sept. 13-18. The visit's goal is to get acquainted with the economic potential of Azerbaijan.
The committees' chairpersons will hold a series of meetings at Azerbaijan's Economy and Industry Ministry and the Ministry of Energy.
Another member of German Bundestag will also visit Azerbaijan, but there is yet no accurate information on this visit.
It should be noted that a few days ago Azerbaijan was visited by a German delegation.
The delegation included Hanns-Eberhard Schleyer, the chairman of the board of German-Azerbaijani Forum, former secretary general of the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts, former secretary of state.
Among the delegation members there also were Karin Strenz, the MP, chair of the parliamentary friendship group for relations with the states in the Southern Caucasus, Raynold Robben, the chair of the German-Israeli Society, Michael-Andreas Butz, the secretary general of the German-Azerbaijani Forum, former secretary of state, and Rainer Lindner, the CEO of the Eastern Committee of German Economy.
The delegation had several meetings at the government structures of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that the annual trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Germany stands at over $2.5 billion.
