The relations between Russia and Azerbaijan are now experiencing a boost, which is especially significant in a time when a sanction regime of the West is active against Russia, the deputy prime minister of Russia, Dmitry Rogozin told AzerTAc.

He made the remarks at a presentation of the Baku 2015 European Games, held in Moscow.

"We have very good contact with Azerbaijan's leadership," said Rogozin. "Currently, the Azerbaijani producers are actively helping Russia with the fruits and vegetables supplies, in a time when a sanction regime against our country has started."

At the same time, Rogozin said that the contacts in the industry sphere work very well.

Rogozin said that currently the creation of a service center in Azerbaijan for the Russian-made helicopters is being considered.

"There are ideas of cooperation in shipbuilding for the development of the Caspian region. I can, in general, say there are trust, mutual understanding, and coincidence of positions on many issues of international politics," he said.

He also stressed that Azerbaijan has shown itself as a reliable and serious ally.

"Therefore, I keep in contact with Azerbaijan with pleasure," said Rogozin, recalling that he is the co-chairman of the Russian part of the Russia-Azerbaijan commission for the socio-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
