Another five high-ranking officials of the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan have been brought under investigation.
Following the arrest of the head of the Main Directorate for Combating Transnational Organized Crime of the National Security Ministry, Akif Chovdarov, five members of the department's staff have been brought under investigation.
These are: the head of the directorate, Colonel Salim Mammadov; the head of the department, Lieutenant Colonel Vugar Mukhtarov; the head of the directorate, Colonel Rasul Rasulov; the deputy director of the department, Colonel Ali Nabiyev; and the deputy head of the directorate, Lieutenant Colonel Elkhan Omarov.
On Nov.16, the Court of Sabail district of Baku, as a preventive measure, had placed deputy chief of the department Orhan Osmanov and head of the directorate Akif Aliyev under arrest for three months.
