Azerbaijan will continue its participation in NATO's "Decisive support" operation in Afghanistan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said Feb. 16.
He made remarks during the meeting with NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appathurai.
Azerbaijan and NATO are connected with reliable and consistent partnership, said the minister.
The cooperation between the sides within the framework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) and the Partnership for Peace Planning and Review Process (PARP) is developing successfully, he added.
"Decisive support" operation is NATO's noncombat mission for training and assisting Afghan government forces, which began on Jan. 1, 2015.
NATO Secretary General's Special Representative thanked Azerbaijan for its contribution in the Alliance's international peacekeeping mission.
Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation is carried out within the "Partnership for Peace" program. Earlier, NATO adopted a document of the fourth stage of the Individual Partnership Action Plan for 2015-2016.
