The 25th anniversary of the partnership between Azerbaijan and the European Union is marked this year and this partnership is primarily based on interpersonal communications and relations, said Malena Mard, head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan.
Mard made the remarks Oct. 1 at the opening ceremony of the EuroVillage 2016 in Baku.
The ambassador said that by holding this event, its organizers invite everyone to visit Europe.
At this event, anyone can become better acquainted with the culture of each European country represented in the EuroVillage 2016 and try its national cuisine, Mard said, addressing the guests of the event.
The EU ambassador expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan’s government for support in organizing and holding the event.
Ambassadors of a number of EU countries also took part in the opening ceremony of the EuroVillage 2016.
The program of the event, which will last until the evening Oct. 1, includes entertainment shows, a variety of competitions, quizzes, in particular those designed for children, karaoke and concerts.
The main guest of the concert program of the EuroVillage 2016 will be David Vendetta, a French dance producer and DJ.
The EuroVillage 2016 was organized within the framework of joint cooperation with the EU member states. Its goal is to promote the EU by introducing people to the Union’s culture and different traditions.
