Certain media outlets in Azerbaijan disseminate erroneous information, said Azerbaijani MP Siyavush Novruzov, stating that there are no political prisoners in Azerbaijan.
The policy of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) is that no one has ever been prosecuted for political views, he said at a plenary session of the parliament on Feb. 23.
He noted that being a member of NAP or another party doesn’t insure any person from responsibility for a committed crime.
Expressing his attitude to the topic, Speaker of the Parliament Ogtay Asadov, in his turn, noted that certain media outlets in Azerbaijan commit some distortions.
