President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic Milan Ekert.
The ambassador reviewed a guard of honor.
Ambassador Milan Ekert presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.
President Ilham Aliyev then had a conversation with the ambassador.
The head of state hailed the level of bilateral ties and mutual cooperation between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of bilateral relations in terms of the Azerbaijan-European Union and Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation.
The president noted that the two countries are interested in attaining good results of cooperation in other fields too, expressing his confidence that the goal will be achieved.
President Ilham Aliyev pointed out that the interparliamentary, intergovernmental and business relations as well as reciprocal visits might contribute to this. The head of state wished the ambassador success in his activities.
Ambassador Milan Ekert praised the successful development of bilateral relations between the two countries in a variety of areas.
He described the fact that this year marks the centenary of the establishment of the republic both in Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic as symbolic.
The ambassador noted that the two countries have made great strides in terms of the development of bilateral relations over the past 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties.
Ambassador Milan Ekert said he will spare no efforts to contribute to further expansion of the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic during his diplomatic tenure.
