BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17

Trend:

Azerbaijani Trend and Russian TASS news agencies have presented new media platform - Еastweststream.com - that will create a vast database and provide a new systematic flow between East and West, Trend reports.

The presentation of a joint project was held in the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on July 17.

The Еastweststream.com platform aims to meet the growing demand for reliable news and qualitative analytics that reflect the dynamic development of the countries of the East and the West.

Еastweststream.com will also cover geo-political processes, as well as will be a reliable source of news on the potential, financial situation and political processes of energy resources-rich regions. Thus, the new platform will create a vast database and provide a new systematic flow of information from the East to the West.

Еastweststream.com is a unique digital media platform from the technological point of view. The project will unite the leading media structures of the countries of the East and the West.

At the presentation, Ahmad Ismayilov, Chief Executive Officer at Media Development Agency, Mikhail Gusman and Mikhail Kalmikov, First Deputy Director Generals of TASS, Leyla Abdullayeva, Spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mikhail Bocharnikov, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan delivered speeches.

Besides, Rovshan Mammadov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Closed Joint-Stock Company, Elchin Shikhli, Head of the Azerbaijan Union of Journalists, Mirshahin Agayev, Director General of the REAL analysis and information center, Vugar Khalilov, Director General of Azerbaijan’s CBC TV channel, and Azerbaijani MP Nizami Safarov were also speakers of the event.

The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps in Azerbaijan, heads of newspapers, online media, television, and journalists. The organizers informed the guests about the project.

Director General of Trend News Agency Ilgar Huseynov and Director General of TASS Sergey Mikhailov agreed to expand cooperation during the meeting in Moscow earlier this year.

TASS is Russia's oldest state news agency with a history of 116 years. The agency operates in all of Russia and more than 60 countries around the world, providing full and comprehensive coverage of the most important and interesting events.
