BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22. The conditions created in Azerbaijan open great opportunities for the training of athletes, Deputy Minister of the Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan Mariana Vasileva said, Trend reports.
Vasileva made the statement during the opening ceremony of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics
“We welcome each of you to the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup. Today, Baku is hosting another major competition. Our government shows great care and attention to sports in our country. Therefore, the success of our sports is growing, Gymnastics is developing in Azerbaijan from year to year,” she said.
Vasileva noted that the conditions created in our country open great opportunities for the training of athletes, as well as for the organization of various international competitions at a high level.
“Today, National Gymnastics Arena is a favorite gymnastics facility not only for national gymnasts but for many gymnasts from abroad as well. Athletes from all continents choose our Arena for training and competitions with great enthusiasm. Today, Baku is one of the main Gymnastics centers in the world,” Vasileva added.
In her words, all this has been possible thanks to the care of the Azerbaijani government shown to sports.
“We are grateful to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, and the First Vice-President of our country, President of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, Mehriban Aliyeva, for this care and for such great conditions. Thank you all again and I wish success to all participants!” Vasileva said.
She expressed the belief that interesting and colorful performances will be witnessed within the next few days.
“Let the strong win! I declare the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup open!” she concluded.
