BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with Vice-President of the German Bundestag Katrin Göring-Eckardt on July 18, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Trend.
During the meeting, Bayramov underscored the importance of developing bilateral relations and inter-parliamentary cooperation with Germany. He also noted the celebration of the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2022.
The minister expressed satisfaction with his visit to Germany in March 2022 as well.
Moreover, the sides exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues, the situation around Ukraine, and energy security issues.
They also discussed Azerbaijan's potential in energy security, energy exports to Europe, as well as in renewable energy development.
The meeting addressed the current situation in the South Caucasus after Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day second Karabakh war, peacekeeping efforts, reconstruction activities, and renewable energy projects in the liberated territories.
Furthermore, the sides reviewed humanitarian and cultural cooperation between the two countries, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
