BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 5. Azerbaijan and Russia are close to wrap up 2023 with positive dynamics in trade turnover, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, Trend reports.
"In terms of economic cooperation, 2022 was a positive year. The increase was 24 percent. As to 2023, despite the fact that final data is not yet available, the overall trend shows that we will be reaching positive dynamics by the end of the year. Today, I believe we will have the opportunity to discuss a number of key economic projects, both bilateral and regional," he noted.
Humanitarian issues, according to Bayramov, have long played an important role in the two countries' dialogue.
Bayramov arrived in Russia on December 4 for a working visit to attend a meeting of Caspian foreign ministers.
Bayramov is expected to speak at the gathering and undertake bilateral discussions during his visit.
The Caspian foreign ministers' meeting has begun in Moscow.
The event, chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, is attended by the foreign ministers of the Caspian states: Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan.
