SUSHA, Azerbaijan, July 21. Azerbaijan's position is clear. Azerbaijan expects Armenia to end its territorial claims against Azerbaijan on a constitutional basis, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan, Assistant to the President Hikmet Hajiyev told reporters, Trend reports.

He noted that if the constitution of any country contains claims to the territory of another state, this must be stopped.

"We understand that the constitution is an internal matter of each country. But if there are claims to the territory of another state in the constitution, then they should end, and the legal framework should be in a form that completely puts an end to territorial claims so that we can move forward. Azerbaijan proposed that Armenia and Azerbaijan jointly appeal to the OSCE with a request to terminate the activities of the Minsk Group. Because there is no need to preserve an institution like the Minsk Group. If there is no conflict, then what is the meaning of the existence of the Minsk Group? In this regard, Azerbaijan proposed to the Armenian side that, as a temporary approach, we can agree on the basic principles that could form the basis of good neighborly relations between the two countries. I wouldn't call this a temporary peace agreement. It should be taken into account that in 2021, the Azerbaijani side became the initiator of the principles that will form the basis of the peace process as a whole," he added.
