BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 1. A member with the advisory voting right in the Central Election Commission (CEC) from the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) has been approved, Trend reports.
The decision to approve the member was adopted at today's meeting of the CEC.
Speaking at the meeting, CEC Secretary Arifa Mukhtarova noted that the NAP has applied for approval of a party representative as an advisory member.
The issue was then put to a vote and passed.
On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the dissolution of the Azerbaijani Parliament of the sixth convocation and the appointment of an extraordinary election to the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The snap election is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
