BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. More than 42,000 voters will cast their ballots in the territories liberated from occupation in the extraordinary elections to the Azerbaijani Parliament, Сhairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said, Trend reports.
Addressing the CEC meeting today, he noted that 54 polling stations will operate in the territories liberated from occupation.
“34 of them are permanent, 20 are temporary. However, the number of temporary polling stations can be expanded,” he added.
On June 28, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and calling for an extraordinary election.
The snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is scheduled for September 1, 2024.
