BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. Deputy speakers of the Azerbaijani Parliament will no longer be allowed to hold the committee chair position, Trend reports.

The change is part of the newly adopted rules.

The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.

A total of 112,749 local observers were registered to monitor the election. More than 65,000 of them were representatives of political parties. The number of registered international observers was 598 people, representing 51 organizations in 69 countries.

Out of 990 registered candidates in the parliamentary election, 305 are representatives of 25 political parties. Although 371 candidates are members of political parties, they were not nominated by the parties to which they belong. In total, 676 candidates have political party affiliation.

On September 21, the Constitutional Court approved the election results.
