BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 25. The Italian Industrial Electronic Constructions and Automation (CEIA) company, supported by the Italian Foreign Ministry, is preparing to launch a new demining project in Azerbaijan's Karabakh, an Applied Technology Expert at CEIA Maurizio Mascarino said, Trend reports.
He made the remark during the 5th anniversary Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition ADEX 2024, held at the Baku Expo Center today.
"We are pleased to support the demining of Azerbaijan's liberated territories. As part of the project, a women's non-governmental organization in Azerbaijan will receive our metal detectors to locate and remove mines in Karabakh," he explained.
Mascarino emphasized that the project, implemented through the association "Italian Campaign Against Mines", has been funded by the Italian Foreign Ministry and will soon be officially presented by the Italian Embassy in Baku.
"Our mine detectors are making waves across the globe, even finding a home in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) is in the same boat as a few private companies operating in Azerbaijan's Karabakh when it comes to using our metal detectors," he added.
The 5th anniversary of the Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition "ADEX", the largest event dedicated to the defense industry in the region, is being held September 24-26 at Baku Expo Center. The 14th International Exhibition of Equipment for Internal Security, Safety, and Rescue "Securex Caspian" is organized in parallel.
The inaugural "ADEX" exhibition took place in 2014, marking the beginning of a new chapter. The roster of exhibitors and the fields it encompasses grows like a weed each year.
The exhibition has gathered a cornucopia of companies from over 50 countries, with around 200 official delegations making their mark over a decade of fruitful endeavors. Over the years, the exhibition has seen its fair share of foot traffic, attracting more than 30,000 guests to its doors.
