Heikki Talvitie, the special representative of the European Union (EU), will prepare a report on the pre-election situation and resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh conflict during his two-day visit to Baku.
In his exclusive interview for Trend Talvitie said that the report will reflect the totals of
talks held with the officials of the Azerbaijani executive bodies, as well as the opposition leaders and heads of non-governmental organizations. В"The issue of resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,В" he underlined, appraising the results of recent meetings between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Warsaw. В"The meeting enabled to expand the circle of instructions given to the Foreign Ministers of the countries,В" EU special representative underscored.
Touching upon the participation of EU representatives in the monitoring of parliamentary elections in November, Talvitie said that the European Union was waiting for an invitation from the OSCE, as the European experts will assemble within the observation group of OSCE.
The EU special representative said that during the forthcoming visit to Baku late this September he was panning to tour the regions of Azerbaijan. В"I will not only hold a monitoring of the pre-election situation in Baku, but also tour different regions of the country,вЂќ Talvitie underlined.
