VILAYAT EYVAZOV: RADICAL OPPOSITION OF AZERBAIJAN SEEKS WAY FOR WEAPON ACQUISITION

The Azerbaijan’s radical opposition plans to hold unrests during the forthcoming parliamentary elections and some oppositionist groups seek ways for the arms acquisition, such a statement was made on 25 July in Baku by the deputy Interior Minister of Azerbaijan (IM) Vilayat Eyvazov, Trend reports.

In the opinion of the IM deputy head, although it is not easy to acquire arms illegally in the country and such facts are suppressed, some individual attempts to get weapon by oppositionists still happen.

Meanwhile, Vilayat Eyvazov refused to identify specific names, appealing to the investigation secrecy necessity.

В"I call on the opposition to review their positions”, Eyvazov said, having underlined, that on 6 November fair parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan, at the result of which, ”as before, the sound forces will be elected to the Parliament”.

Touching upon the possibilities of unrests in the country, the deputy Minister noted, “all attempts to hold such actions will be suppressed”.
