The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) hosted on Friday a meeting between the authorities and opposition.
Attending the event were the Executive Secretary of the NAP, Ali Ahmadov, his deputy Mubaiz Gurbanly, the chairman of the Ana Vatan Party, Fazail Agamaly, head of the Social Security Party, Khanhuseyn Kazimly, as well as the chairman of the Civil Solidarity Party, Sabir Rustamkhanly, the head of the National Independence Party (ANIP), Ali Ahmadov, the head of the Baku Office of the OSCE, Mauricio Pavesi.
Parties entering Azadlyg bloc вЂ" the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFAP), the Democratic Party and Musavat, refused to participate in the event.
The roundtable focused on the financial transparency of the parties. They noted the importance of making transparent the financing sources and put forward proposals in this connection.
Some changes and supplements will be injected in the Law on Political Parties to ensure the transparency. Participants in the meeting supported an idea on including more exact and clear mechanism linked with the financing of parties fro abroad. They also condemned the �black PR’ started in some local media units.
During the event the sides achieved an agreement continue the dialogue in the headquarters of the Civil Solidarity Party in the first half of August.
