FOR 6 MONTHS OF 2005 PUBLIC PROSECUTION OFFICES DISCLOSED 290 CRIMES

For the first half-year of 2005 the prosecution bodies disclosed 290 crimes. The Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov told on 26 August in his report speech at the Prosecutor’s General Office at the collegium sitting, dedicated to the results of the first half-year, Trend reports.

During the first half-year the number of kidnappings, premeditated murders, premediated inflicting injuries to health, threatening demands, robberies, hooliganism, stealing of motor vehicles reduced essentially. Garalov appreciated as a positive indicator of work disclosure of 290 crimes, among them 88 heavy and especially heavy ones, committed during previous years and remaining unopened for long years.

Along with this, the Prosecutor General voiced concern over the fact, that a number of heavy crimes related to murders are not disclosed so far. The list includes the murder of the USA citizen John Elvis, members of the family of the academician Faramaz Magsudov, police officers Mehman Gasimov and Miremil Agayev, an employee of the “Capitalbank” and some other murders.
