On the eve of the football qualifying world championship between the national teams of Austria and Azerbaijan, the Austrian вЂ"Azerbaijani В"New Baku and Vienna” society held a news conference, at which the detailed information on the charity action “We are like others!” was reported. The society “New Baku and Vienna” mark in 2005 its 5-th anniversary, due to which the action “We are like others!” was launched.
In the framework of the action, on 6 September a charity concert for the children with the Down syndrome will be held at the Baku Opera House. В"The only theater in Europe for children with the Down syndrome “Scamps” functions in Azerbaijan and we are glad that we could help them somehow, as thanks to the theatre children could start talking”, Berger noted.
The president of the society told about the activities of the organization she heads noting, during the last years both in Azerbaijan and in Austria a lot of events, intended to expand cultural relations between the two countries took place. In particular, on
24 August a presentation of the event “Azerbaijan. Tourism from the country of the Fire God” took place in Vienna.
In conclusion, representatives of the Football Federation of Austria (FFA) handed in the envelope with money donations to the arts director of the “Scamps” theatre, Zarifa Mamedova.
It should be noted, that the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov and the FFA president Friedrich Stiekler sponsored the charity concert for the children with the Down syndrome
A large group of the Austrian journalists, who arrived in Baku with the National Football team attended the conference.
It should be also reminded, a delegation of 100 persons arrived in Baku from Vienna on Monday, comprised of the two football teams of Austria: the national team В"U-21В" and the other national team, as well as 30 sponsors of the Austrian team and 50 representatives of the media. The match Azerbaijan-Austria will take place on Tuesday evening.
