AMBASSADORS OF AZERBAIJAN IN LATVIA AND GERMANY HANDED OVER THEIR CREDENTIALS TO PRESIDENTS OF THESE CPUNTRIES

The Ambassadors of Azerbaijan in Latvia and Germany handed over their credentials to the Presidents of these countries. The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Latvia Tofig Zulfugarov delivering his credential to the President of Latvia Mrs. Vayra Vike-Freiberge underlined, he will do his utmost for developing links between the two countries, the press service of the Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry told Trend.

Exchange of opinions on the issue of preparations to the scheduled on 3-4 October 2005 official visit of the Latvian President to Azerbaijan was held. The president of Latvia appreciated highly the decision of the Azerbaijan’s government to open the Embassy exactly in Latvia and underscored, she is looking forward to the official visit to our country and meeting with the head of our state and that this visit will give the impetus to the development of the bilateral relations.

Prospects for the bilateral Azerbaijani-German relations, existing ties between the two countries, democratic reforms in Azerbaijan, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the situation in the South Caucasus and in the Caspian region in general were discussed at the ceremony of handing over the credentials of the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany Perviz Shahbazov to the President Horst Keller. The sides discussed also the issues of the both countries economic development.
