President of state chemical company deprisved of his deputy immunity

MP Fikrat Sadykhov, the President of the Azerkimya state chemical company, was deprived of his deputy immunity in a parliamentary sitting held on Friday. The decision was taken on the base of an appeal by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan to the parliament, Trend reports.

Addressing the sitting Rustam Usubov, Deputy Prosecutor General, said that the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan requests the Milli Majlis [parliament] to cease the immunity of Sadykhov as MP with regard to institute criminal proceedings against him. He is charged with Articles 179.3.2, 308.2, 28.220.1 and 278 of the Criminal
Code.

The chairman of the discipline commission Karim Karimov, the appeal sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office was discussed in a meeting of the parliamentary commission. It was resolved to cease the immunity of Sadykhov, which was made answerable at the court. Speakers to the gathering, MPs Sattar Safarov, Musa Musayev, Mais Safarli, Eldar Ibrahimov, and Ali Husseynov stated that Sadykhov’s junction to corruption and attempts of state upheaval as unfit for MP. After the discussions the issue was to motion and adopted unilaterally by 87 So, MP Sadykhov lost his deputy immunity.
