Growth of GDP in Azerbaijan for 9 months is 22%

The growth of GDP in Azerbaijan on the results of 9 months of 2005 is approximately 22%, the country’s President Ilham Aliyev stated at the sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Trend reports.

According to him, industrial production for the period increased by 28%, the inflation rate was 12%. The average salary grew by 22%, money revenues of the population вЂ" by 21%. The head of the state noted, there is no other country in the world, where the growth of the economy for 9 months would constitute 22%, and in the coming years this growth will go on in higher tempos.

As for the budget expenditures in 2006, Aliyev said, they will reach $4 billion. According to him, the level of poverty early in the year lowered from 49 to 40%, this figure will, probably, become even lower till the year-end. If in early 2005, 133,000 jobs were opened in the country, on the whole a number of newly opened jobs for the latest two years is 311,000. It also witnesses, that the program stated by us, that is, opening of 600,000 new jobs for 5 years will be fulfilled.

Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, Aliyev said, Рђzerbaijan adheres to peaceful talks for over 10 years. В"Unfortunately, the talks are still fruitless, however, they develop in a positive direction. Our position is unchangeable. The Armenian вЂ"Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorny Karabakh must be settled exclusively within the international laws, the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Other options are not discussed altogether”, he said.
