Reno Harnish: USA hope violations recorded on parliamentary elections day in Azerbaijan will be removed

The USA hope that the violations of law recorded on the 6 November voting day in Azerbaijan will be removed in due time and the individuals who violated the Election Code of the country will be punished, the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Reno Harnish came out today with such a statement, Trend reports.

В"Washington calls on the government of Azerbaijan to study thoroughly the election protocols and give the deputy mandate to those candidates who gained the most number of votes”, the American diplomat noted, saying, that all complaints addressed to the Azerbaijan’s Central Election Committee (CEC) “are to be carefully examined”.

Harnish added, the government of Azerbaijan started to reveal facts of the legislation violations itself, due to which the results of the voting have been cancelled in some constituencies.

Along with this, the US Ambassador noted, that the PA Consulting, which had conducted exit poll, funded by the US governemnt, fulfilled its work efficiently and he has no doubts in its results. В"PA Consulting applied a very unbiased method and a large number of people took part in this poll. I consider, exit poll was very important for Azerbaijan. It was of an important political significance and I think, it will affect the further processes in the republic”, Harnish said.

The American diplomat said in conclusion, that the USA come out for the support of freedom of assemblies, noting “the demonstrations are needed for the citizens to express freely their will”.
