“The Azerbaijani Constitution is the perfect document ensuring human rights and freedoms,” Farhad Abdullayev, the chairman of the Constitution Court, said to conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Day of the Constitution, Trend reports.
“Azerbaijan was in need of strong legal base to ensure stability and public order, as well as establish civil society after acquisition of independence. The Constitution developed by national leader Heydar Aliyev and adopted through referendum on 12 November 1995 serves to it.
The document is integral part of main rights and freedoms in the view of citizen’s political rights,” he chairman of the Constitution Court stressed.
According to Abdullayev, political rights show themselves in determination of political fate by citizens, formation of supreme authorities through free elections. “It is related to division of power that is a classical condition of democracy. The Azerbaijani Constitution is not exclusion in the view of regulation of this main right,” he underlined.
