The act of humanism demonstrated in regard to Eldar Salayev, the former President of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, will not be applied in regarded to other arrested, Trend reports quoting Zakir Garalov, the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, as saying.
He noted the impossibility of the punishment measures in the regard to others arrested for participation in the coup d’etat prepared by the ex-Ministers. “The Prosecutor General’s Office carries out control over the criminal investigation. Salayev was released due to reveal of serious problems with his heath. He personally appealed to the President in this connection. At present the comprehensive investigation into the case is underway,” Garalov underlined.
He also noted that law-defender of the arrested also participate in the investigation. At present inspection in the Ministries of Health and Economic Development and Azerkimya state company is underway. “Some facts of corruption have been revealed in the activities of the head of the said bodies. For instance, more than 300,000 privatization checks have been misappropriated at the Auction Center of the Ministry Economic Development. The revision continues and of course, the legal estimation will be given as of its results,” Garalov underscored.
