The current configuration of the electoral administration and the format of the Central Election Committee (CEC) of Azerbaijan is fair and efficient, the executive secretary of the ruling “New Azerbaijan” party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov told journalists, voicing his attitude to the oppositional view on forming the new CEC composition, Trend reports.
The opposition, taking into account various proposals of international institutions to this issue came out with the desire to restructure the CEC composition. Ahmadov noted, the CEC formation under the Elections Code consists of three parts. В"From 18 persons, 6 are members of the party, which makes the majority at the Parliament, 6 вЂ" from other parties, and 6 вЂ" are candidates nominated by independent deputies. This format is fair and efficient and in future the new CEC will be formed based on this principle”, Ahmadov noted.
