Group of oppositionists tried to hold action in front of Narimanov metro station exit

A group of oppositionists (about 15-20 people) tried to hold the action of protest at approximately 15.50 p.m. on 18 December 2005 in front of the Narimanov metro station exit. The participants of the unauthorized action cried out “By-elections”, “To cancel the results of the parliamentary elections” and other slogans, the Trend correspondent reports. The police forced out the demonstrators to the nearest Aga Neymatulla street and has detained some of the protestors.

It should be noted, the traffic at the intersection of the adjoining to the square in front of the Narimanov cinema streets, Aga Neymatulla and Tabriz, has been completely stopped. The police forces have blocked the Narimanov park, and city-dwellers are not let in there.
