Georgian President thanks Azeri leader for assistance

Georgian President Mikhael Saakashvili phones his Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev last Sunday, the Azerbaijani Presidents Apparat announced.

The Georgian president voiced his gratitude for assistance rendered by Azerbaijan in connection with the incident in the gas and energy lines ranging from Russian to Georgia, noting that urgent energy and gas supply was ensured to Georgian at the Azerbaijani leaders instruction.

President Aliyev voiced his confidence that the friendly and fraternal nations and countries will hence assist each other.

During the telephone talks the sides had an exchange of opinion on the bilateral relationships in the political and economic spheres, as well as further perspectives of cooperation in the energy sector.
