The first meeting of the representatives from the countries entering Kiev initiative stated in Strasbourg on Monday, Trend reports inn reference to the CE Secretariat. Attending the two-day gathering will be officials from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, and Ukraine in the sphere of culture policy and culture sector of heritage.
Kiev initiative is a CE-supported project, which directed at vital development of democratic culture citizenship and interculture understanding in the said countries.
Mod de Bur-Buqikkio, the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, stated to a forum titled The significance of culture heritage for Europe in Brussels in December 2005 that the CE was involved in the development of an action plan called Kiev initiative. We are keen on encouraging the development of new political strategies in these countries to promote the stable development, democratic citizenship and interculture understanding, Bur-Buqikkio stressed.
