France is to participate more actively in processes taking place in South Caucasus, the Azerbaijan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov said in a statement during the meeting with the French Ambassador in Azerbaijan Roland Batmann, whose diplomatic mission is coming to an end, the press centre of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry told Trend.
The Minister noted especially the importance of restoration of stability and security in the region, as well as settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorny Karabakh within international norms and principles and the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic.
The Ambassador, in his turn, having thanked the Azerbaijan leadership for the assistance in his diplomatic activities voiced hope in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict and in the efforts of the international community.
