Statement by Armenian president is destructive and does not favor peaceable talks spokesman for Foreign Ministry

Tahir Tagizade, the head of the Information and Press Department of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that the last statement by Armenian President Robert Kocharian is of destructive character and does not favor the peace talks.

Kocharian has recently stated on possibility of taking 3 steps by Armenia recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh, define the authorities for it and consolidate the security belt around Karabakh.

The statement was obviously made in favor of internal interests. On the one hand it exactly defines he character of Armenias role in the conflict, on the other hinders the development of the negotiations, Tagizade stressed.

Despite the continuing many-year aggression and occupation of its territory by Armenia, Azerbaijan continues its loyalty to peace talks and considers the statement as impediment in the moment of development achieved in the peace process, Tagizade underscored.
