The Resolution of the European Parliament concerning destruction of the Armenian cemeteries in Djulfa district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) does not reflect the position of the states represented there at all, but is a subjective position of its individual members, the Europa House coordinator in Azerbaijan Wolfgang Spoerer has told journalists today, Trend reports.

According to him, the European Parliament consists of 25 voluntary members from the same number of states and each of them has his own opinion on one and the same issue.

The European Union (EU) spokesman declined the existing view that the institution takes a pro-Christian position. В"Р•U is not established based on religious values and is not a Christian club, but rests on democratic principles, he has been quoted as saying.
