Investigation related to ordinance discovered in Gey-Gel national park is held

In regard to the armament found at the Gey-Gel national reserve the investigation is underway at the Hanlar district police, the head of the Hanlar district police department Magerram Aliyev has told Trend.

According to him, due to the anonymous telephone call the operation officers who arrived to Gey-Gey have detected a large amount of arms on the area. During the inspection 2 sub-machine guns, 2 hunting rifles, 4 pieces of hand grenades, 4500 pieces of bullets for submachine guns, 1200 units of machine gun bullets have been found. The head of the district police does not rule out the ordinance found have been brought by the residents of Khanlar district in the beginning of 1990s from the military zone and were abandoned on this area. However, other versions are also being investigated.

The head of the police said, ballistic examination has been set aimed at identifying whether the fire-arms found had been used in criminal cases during the latest years.
