Bird flu doesn't spread among dogs & cats - Ismayil Hassanov
The state Veterinary Service under the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry denies information on possibility of spreading of bird flu among dogs and cats, Trend reports quoting Ismayil Hassanov, the head of the Veterinary Service.
These animals cannot be carriers of the virus H5N1, he said.
People can get infection only from poultry, wild birds and pigs. Danger of infection from pigs is higher than birds. Infection through water in reservoirs is impossible, taking into consideration carried out disinfection work, Hassanov stressed.
People can considerably avoid of infection by fulfillment of elementary hygienic rules, he underlined.
