The Azerbaijani National Agency of Mine Clearing (ANAMA) guarantees 99, 9% of security at the cleared off mines lands, the ANAMA director, Nazim Ismayilov told journalists, commenting on the statement that majority of accidents happen on the lands cleared off mines, Trend reports.
We guarantee the security to the population on territories where the Agency is conducting or have already conducted its clearing operations, no accidents can happen at these territories, he emphasized. Incidents as a rule usually take place at the lands where ANAMA did not yet work, and the local population out of negligence ignores the ANAMA warning signs and enters the mined territories, the director concluded.
Expanding the mine clearing operations from 2004, ANAMA also expands its educational works to explain the population how to behave in the non-safe zones.
