Speaker receives Polish economy minister

Oktai Asadov, the Azerbaijani Speaker, received a delegation headed by the Polish Minister for Economic, Piotr Wazniak, the MiIli Majlis [Azerbaijan parliament] told Trend.

The speaker informed that Azerbaijan take mores interest in the development of cooperation with Poland, which is one of the first countries which recognized the independence of the country. The talks and documents signed during the official visits of former late President Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to Poland and laid firm foundation for upgrade of the cooperation. The Polish Presidents visit to Azerbaijan also had a positive impact on the development of the bilateral relationships. Today our countries cooperate in different spheres and we believe in the perspectives of our relationships.

The minister underlined the importance that Poland attaches to Caucasus. He announced that the ongoing upgrade of economic and cultural relations gives impetus to the developments bonds on the level of parliaments.

The talks focused on exchange of opinions on exchange of experience and information in the sphere of legislation, establishment of legislative base of economic reforms and issues of mutual interest.
